Times are tough, trailer content theft is on the rise and break-in methods are becoming more advanced. Truck drivers and owners need the best possible security when it comes to their expensive cargo. To meet this need, Next Generation Power, a distributor for Xena Security, has developed the alarmingly strong Cargo Door Lock. The mechanism employs a Xena lock and heavy-duty clamp system to ensure shipments reach their destination.
To construct the lock, Xena Security considered today’s advanced methods of illegal container and truck entry. The Xena lock features a corrosion-resistant T304 stainless-steel body and an anti-twist, boron-hardened steel shackle that can’t be hammered apart, chiseled off, or opened with bolt cutters. The lock is pick-proof, freeze-spray proof, and drill resistant, and uses an 110-dB siren that is triggered by a motion and shock sensor. The siren can be easily disarmed with a laser-cut key that has 250,000 different combinations for maximum protection.
Constructed of powder-coated, 3/16-inch (4.8 mm) wall steel tubing with 0.25-by-6-inch (6.4-by-15.2-mm) end plates, the clamp system is adjustable in width from 9.5 to 17 inches (24.1 to 43.2 cm) to fit almost any trailer or container door. The lock’s 5/8-inch (1.9 cm) diameter shackles pass through two holes of the clamping mechanism for superior locking strength.
The suggested retail price of the Cargo Door Lock from Next Generation Power is $199 with fleet and dealer discounts available.
